Robert B. Bates, Partner

A partner for more than two decades, Robert Bates heads the firm’s real estate practice, which encompasses a wide array of transactions and disputes both commercial and residential.

Qualified to practice in many areas of law, Bates finds great enjoyment in bringing buyers, sellers, lenders and agents together to finalize legal work at the closing on a piece of property. He personally handles a range of transactions from the closing of a single-family home to the land acquisition and development of a commercial project. He also serves as the issuing agent for several title companies and has represented numerous mortgage lenders at closings.

Born in Greenville, Ala., and raised in Columbus, Ga., Bates holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Auburn University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia.

He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association and the Western Circuit Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in state and federal district courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
